Porto Montenegro

Porto Montenegro is what Monaco used to be before it became Monaco — a small, serious marina town with deep water and discreet hotels, and a crowd that has already made most of the decisions about where it spends its summers. The Bay of Kotor sits behind it, a fjord in all but geology. The food is surprisingly good.

We fly here because the people who were going to Monaco are quietly coming here now. Because the water is the right temperature and the marina is the right size and nobody you don't know is there. Because a Mediterranean weekend should still feel like a secret.
